Restoration of Second Commandment

Hey! So yeah, I'm still stuck on that word from Sean Malone on Monday. The one about responding from faith not fear. Can you bear with me while I work through it some more? Thank you for being so gracious and patient with me. Here are some brown sugar shortbread cookies. Want one? The teapot's full and hot too. Want some to go with the cookie? There you go. I think I'll have a cuppa too.

I can't decide which part to pick out of the section I'm working on right now so I'll just bring out the entire section. I've highlighted the parts that are speaking to me so strongly. We can talk about it, as we need, from there. Oh yes, this is still from an article from the Elijah List. Their contact info. is included at the end. Here's the section from the article:

"Restoring the Second Commandment
The other aspect we need to understand is that in the shakings, God is restoring the second commandment as well as the first commandment. Love for others. What happens in the midst of a disaster or crisis? People come together and help each other. As we prepare for this fall, we need to be preparing to help others.
Today there is a prophecy about global crisis and the fear response is: Determine to prepare for survival and self-preservation. In the 1st century there was a prophecy about a global crisis (Acts 11:27-30) and the response was: Giving and aiding those impacted; each according to their ability determined to send relief to the brethren elsewhere.
We love to point fingers at the corporate depravity of our nation and say she deserves punishment while our hearts are just as bankrupt. Let's take this time to examine our own lives and actions before we point the finger at anyone around us and make sure we are caring for the poor, needy and hurting, heeding the warnings of Scripture for the actions of Sodom.
Now this was the sin of your sister Sodom: She and her daughters were arrogant, overfed and unconcerned; they did not help the poor and needy. They were haughty and did detestable things before me. Therefore I did away with them as you have seen. Ezekiel 16:49-50
Folks it is an upside down Kingdom. You give it away to keep it and this is a sign your heart is free. Again, if God is dealing corporately with us in America then our preparedness should be more of the heart than a fear-based grasp to hold onto our western lifestyles. Now there is nothing wrong with preparing your home, neighborhood, church and business for crisis and disaster.
Here at CRI we hold seminars on how to train people to do so. However as the Church we need to take inventory of our hearts motivation to make sure we are not hunkering and bunkering in fear but rather getting ready to help others and be the glorious Church in that hour. If something is out from under the Lordship of Christ right now in your life then you want that dealt with now and not later. (Photo via Pixabay)
Hebrews 11:7 says "By faith Noah, when warned about things not yet seen, in holy fear built an ark to save his family..." It says that Noah by faith... in holy fear prepared for his family.
Are you responding in faith or fear? Let's choose faith. We are praying and believing for an outpouring of God's Spirit on the hearts and minds of those in our nation. Let's humble ourselves before the Lord and believe that together we'll see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living.
If we are going to be looking at the Biblical calendar as a way that God deals with His people then remember the Shemitah ended on September 13th and the year of Jubilee started on September 23rd. I encourage you to be believing for great things!"

Wow. Everything I read seems to bring me back to a heart search and examination of thoughts and motives. I am learning more about myself every day. I think that maybe this is all part of getting ready and being wholly prepared body, soul, spirit. I want to be part of the glorious church without spot or wrinkle. How about you? Are you preparing your heart too?

Thank you for stopping in today my friend. A friend who is willing to share not only a cup of tea but also spend time searching the heart on bended knee is a treasured gift. Thank you for being just such a treasure. Together we are humbling ourselves before the Lord, knowing that we will see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living. He said so!

Love & prayers,

Magnificent Obsession

Hi Friend! Did you read yesterday's post? I just can't get away from the thoughts Sean Malone shared with us, especially the part about God's shakings being redemptive in nature. Do you mind if we chat some more about it? The teapot is full; here's a cup. There are scones and lemon curd too, if you want. Are you settled in and comfy? Need a blanket? Here's one. So, here's what's going round and round in my thoughts from yesterday:

"What distractions are in your life that keep you from loving Him and others wholeheartedly? Right now is your heart tender and free from the cares of this life? Is He truly your magnificent obsession? Are you living fully for Him and through Him? Secondly, right now do you love others as yourself and carry a burden for the lost among the nations? This should serve as a tuning fork for our hearts because it is what is on His heart. "
Sean Malone "Responding in Faith Not Fear"

These are words I keep returning to, or keep returning to me.
As I search my heart I know that I am not living fully for and through Him. There are distractions. My heart is not tender and free from the cares of this life. I may be less distracted and less bound by cares than I used to be, but I am not fully living for and through Him yet. My heart is not completely tender and free. I want what is on His heart to be what is on mine. I want Him to be my magnificent obsession.

Magnificent obsession. I love the way that sounds when read and spoken. Magnificent obsession. Now that's loving the Lord our God with all of our heart, soul, mind, and strength and loving our neighbor as ourselves. Magnificent obsession. When what is on God's heart is on ours we are obsessed with Him in a very magnificent way, and that is a very good thing, a very good thing indeed.

I can't help but wonder at the vast difference there will be between my future days and now. When my heart is finally tender and free from the cares of this life and I am living fully for and through Him, then, and only then, I will be able to love and serve as He loves and serves. Then I will truly be prepared.

Now to get rid of distractions.

Seeking Him first and foremost,
Abundantly Blessed

"Responding in Faith Not Fear"

Hi! For days I have been longing to share my heart with you dear friend as I watch and hear the world around me whirling with reports that glorify the destruction of the enemy rather than the goodness of God. My heart has been crying out for words of hope and truth to share, but instead of words to share the Word to "Be still and know that I am God" has come to me. Over and over time and again I have asked God for His words to share. I wanted to combat this spirit of fear that is attempting to saturate minds and lives with the freedom and truth found in Christ. Each time I ask He is quiet, and I am reminded to "Be still" before Him.

Then one morning the words I have been waiting for came; but they didn't come through me. Words of hope, faith, and life came from another source. Sean Malone has shared the very words my heart has been crying out for someone to speak. Many thanks to the Elijah List for allowing the words they post on their website to be shared on other blogs and websites. We are all greatly blessed by their generosity and faithfulness to the Word of God.

As you read the words sent out below dear friend, I speak blessings over you in the name of Yeshua (Jesus)! May we all walk in faith not fear as we prepare to serve those around us through the Love of God. May we also always remember that God is redemptive in nature. The shakings He sends are sent to be redemptive. In the love of Christ, Shalom.

"Responding in Faith Not Fear" Sean Malone, Nashville, TN
The predicted coming crisis this fall is revealing the heart and shaking those things that can be shaken.
There has been a lot of talk and speculation about what is coming upon the world this fall. From N.Y. times bestsellers like The Harbinger and The Mystery of the Shemitah (Shemitah years are God's seven year cycles mentioned in Scripture and linked to economic activity) to contemporary prophets and Blood Moon preachers.
While we can't draw hard and fast doctrines from any of these things, they are signs that make one wonder. I personally have heard quite a bit about what is supposed to happen in America but very little about what we are to do.

Is it just me or does it feel like someone just sucked the air out of the room? It's like a collective gasp around the Body of Christ right now as many of us are frozen, stuck and unsure of what to do. Some are even locked up in fear while the enemy just laughs. But I believe God is raising up people who understand the times and know what to do.

From the tribe of Issachar, there were 200 leaders of the tribe with their relatives. All these men understood the signs of the times and knew the best course for Israel to take. 1 Chronicles 12:32 NLT

Just as God raised up the sons of Issachar who could interpret the times and know what to do, we need to be equipped with knowledge and wisdom on how to take action for the good of the Church and for the sake of the Gospel.

Faith Not Fear
No matter what happens this fall, none of it will take God by surprise. The answer to navigating the potentially troubled waters of this fall is rooted in faith and not fear. If your plan is to hunker down, hoard and just hold on, friends I am sorry you are missing the point. It would help us all to dig into the book of Hebrews to see a bigger picture. (Photo via pexels)

In Hebrews chapter 11 we see the many things the heroes of faith endured. By faith Noah, by faith Abraham, by faith Moses, they ran their race well and endured hardship "by faith" and became heroes of the faith. In chapter 12 we are reminded that God disciplines us as His sons and that we are to endure hardship as discipline from the Lord. Discipline is a sign of our sonship. He goes on to tell us that there is a time period that God will shake everything that can be shaken so that we can receive a Kingdom that cannot be shaken.

God's Shakings Are Redemptive in Nature
One thing we need to understand if we are talking about a God orchestrated shaking is that it is redemptive in nature and designed to perfect love for Him and for others. It's ultimately the first and second commandment coming into first and second place. Anything not under the Lordship of Christ needs to be and will be shaken away if it is hindering love for Him and others.

Think about that for a second.

What distractions are in your life that keep you from loving Him and others wholeheartedly? Right now is your heart tender and free from the cares of this life? Is He truly your magnificent obsession? Are you living fully for Him and through Him? Secondly, right now do you love others as yourself and carry a burden for the lost among the nations? This should serve as a tuning fork for our hearts because it is what is on His heart. (Photo via Pixabay)

How Will We Respond?
If this is true, our response to the potential shakings of this fall should look different. Our preparedness for an economic, political or even geological shaking should be more than a desperate attempt to hold onto our western lifestyles. Preparing for the days ahead is so much deeper than hoarding stuff. I have news for you, if that is your response than God may even shake that too. Do you really think He is looking for more western independence?

It makes me wonder how many people are paralyzed in fear right now of what's coming and have retreated from what God has called them to do. Our western Gospel of comfort that is devoid of the notion that we may suffer has fashioned a golden image of who God is. With the threat that their god may be shaken, people are locked down in fear. Shakings are the litmus test to show who we really serve. Ask yourself this question: How much of my lifestyle did I fabricate and how much of it is built on God's unshakable Kingdom?

Restoring the Second Commandment
The other aspect we need to understand is that in the shakings, God is restoring the second commandment as well as the first commandment. Love for others. What happens in the midst of a disaster or crisis? People come together and help each other. As we prepare for this fall, we need to be preparing to help others.

Al Thomas: "Look Up, Not Down: Financial Blessings Are Coming to the Church!"
by Al Thomas
Sep 14, 2015
From the desk of Steve Shultz:
This is a Most Excellent word by Al Thomas about the blessings coming to the Church... for the Kingdom!
Yes... the enemy has tried to wreak havoc on the Body of Christ with FEAR... but let me remind you of the many times in Scripture we are told to "Fear Not."
This is Not a time for us to Fear, but a time for us to have Faith for all God is wanting to release to His children.
Al Thomas shares this word from the Lord: "I am not panicking about the world's economy. I am not the least bit worried about how I will take care of My children. I have not called an emergency meeting in Heaven to discuss the world's financial crisis, fuel prices and state of the world's economy. If I am not frightened neither should My children be."
Now, I encourage you to line up with this word and make sure to forward this on to others... and if they haven't done so already, be sure to tell them to SUBSCRIBE to the Elijah List to get awesome words like this sent right to their inbox. Just go here: http://elijahlist.com/subscribe.

"Look Up, Not Down: Financial Blessings Are Coming to the Church!" Al Thomas, Hagerstown, MD
Prophetic word: God's people aren't going down the drain, even if the economy does! Financial blessings are coming to the Church... even millionaires!

While in prayer I had a vision of every person in the church. Millions and millions of people. It was an open vision where everything else disappeared but the vision. The vision stunned me. I was told to look up and as did I saw five dollar bills, then ten's, twenties and hundred dollar bills falling from Heaven on the heads of Believers. I saw gold and silver coins falling into pockets of Believers. I was taken back for a moment and wondered what it meant. Then He spoke:
God Says: "I Show Myself Strong in Times of Lack"
"I am not panicking about the world's economy. I am not the least bit worried about how I will take care of My children. I have not called an emergency meeting in Heaven to discuss the world's financial crisis, fuel prices and state of the world's economy. If I am not frightened neither should My children be. Have you forgotten how I have taken care of you in the past? When you hear the dreaded 'R' word - Recession, be reminded of two other 'R' words: 'Remember and Rejoice.' (Photo via Pixabay)
"First, do you 'remember' how I took care of Israel in the desert (Deuteronomy 2:7)? Do you 'remember' how I took care of Elijah in a time of famine (1 Kings 17:7, 16)? Do you 'remember' how I took care of Elisha with a widow (2 Kings 4:6)? Do you 'remember' how I took care of Samaria in a time of famine (2 Kings 7:8)? Do you 'remember' how My Son fed the multitude who followed Him (Matthew 14:20)? Then 'remember' that I promised to take care of you (Philippians 4:19).
"Start to 'rejoice' by faith as you ponder these things. Purposeful rejoicing increases your faith. The enemy wants you to only think about how bad it is; I want you to dwell on My goodness and faithfulness. Start remembering and rejoicing. Walking with Me isn't always easy. It wasn't meant to be. But it's worth it (Romans 8:18). Those of you who have struggled financially...get ready to be blessed. People panic when the Stock Market goes down. They are looking down. My people need to look at My market. It always goes up."
God Says: "You Know 'Complaining' Won't Help, So Praise Me Instead"
"You're no fool. If you are under pressure financially, don't start to grumble like the world does. All of the resources of Heaven are open to you. Don't complain because then you will be expressing exactly what the enemy wants you to express. Doubt, fear and worry are unbelief in disguise. You know that I am capable of taking care of you so don't make it difficult for yourself by murmuring (Philippians 2:14). No child of Mine (who walked in humility and obedience) ever fell into permanent financial ruin. David said, 'I have been young, and now am old; yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed begging bread' (Psalm 37:25). (Photo via Pixabay)
"Going through a stressful time with little money doesn't always mean that you are disobedient. Some wrongly teach that if you are struggling financially you must be out of My will. Tell that to My saints of old: 'Not that I speak in respect of want: for I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content. I know both how to be abased, and I know how to abound: everywhere and in all things I am instructed both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need' (Philippians 4:11-12).
"Kick 'Mr. Complainer' out...invite 'Mr. Praiser' in. Complaining causes doubt. Praise clears the air of confusion and fear. It's time to get up, tell doubt to shut up and start to shout praises to Me! Some need to prepare to be not just well off, but rich. I know their hearts and they are not greedy – they simply want to bless My Church. They will."
God Says: "This Trial Will Come to an End... You 'Know' This, So Hold On"
"Yes, this season will end, and when it does, you'll be glad that you stood strong and waited on Me (Psalm 130:5). You are not going to give in to fear, instead you will hold on to My promises (2 Corinthians 1:20). Do everything you can to stay in alignment with My will for your life (Ephesians 6:13).
"Yes, you may have stumbled a bit. Yes, you may have had some momentary thoughts of bewilderment...but you will not quit! Don't give the devil the pleasure of letting him win. Like Joshua you need to choose to be strong and courageous (Joshua 1:6-7). Child of Mine, you are not alone! As I hold onto you (Psalm 139:10) you must hold on to Me. I am faithful (1 Thessalonians 5:24) to answer every prayer and fulfill every promise.
"Remember, the problem with money is that it never solves anything as long as it's solely in the world's system. Make sure when you are blessed with finances that you bless the Kingdom of God and His servants (1 Timothy 5:18). You will be blessed in return. Don't be surprised when Believers become millionaires overnight.
God Says: "Because You 'Know' This, Don't Let Satan Cause You to Stop Giving"
"Fear is the main reason My children back off from giving. They fear that they will not have enough. Never react from fear because the fruit of fear is torment (1 John 4:18). The fruit of faith is peace and provision. I am pleased when My children give even though they are overwhelmed with problems. (Photo via Pixabay)
The best way to be blessed is to give to God (2 Corinthians 9:6-7). "Out of the most severe trial, their overflowing joy and their extreme poverty welled up in rich generosity. For I testify that they gave as much as they were able, and even beyond their ability. Entirely on their own, they urgently pleaded with us for the privilege of sharing in this service to the saints" (2 Corinthians 8:2-4).
"Note that they pleaded to give and they considered giving a privilege, not an obligation. I do not pressure any of My people to give (Exodus 25:2). Why? Because giving is an act of worship (1 Chronicles 29:14). Giving with an attitude of thankfulness and expectation will open Heaven's resources – to those who can responsibly handle My abundance. Child of Mine, you can handle it! In the meantime let the so-called experts continue to shout 'the sky is falling, the sky is falling' but remember who made the sky and the only way you're going to see it (and your supply) is to look up, not down."

Ordinary is Beautiful

Hi! Is this not one of the most beautiful not quite Fall afternoons you have ever experienced? The sun is shining; a gentle breeze is making the clothes sway on the line; and the two youngest boys and I are having a plain old-fashioned Saturday together. Old-fashioned Saturday? Yes! A Saturday where Mama and the children do laundry, tidy up the house, and enjoy the fullness of ordinary. Seriously. Ordinary days have been getting a bad rap for years. There is much to be said for a life full of ordinary days filled to overflowing with ordinary tasks performed by people living ordinary lives full of God's extraordinary love.

Whether those ordinary activities are hanging laundry on the line or petting half-grown kittens, a day's activities can be extraordinarily beautiful. Perhaps I am one of a select few who feels this way, that the ordinary days are the most lovely. Then again, maybe inside of every individual a longing for the lovely ordinary resides. Entertainment would certainly indicate this to be the case. Consider the sheer number of books and movies based on the age-old story line of big city dweller moves to rural countryside and discovers an unknown love for the rural life they formerly despised. The theme isn't relegated to city vs. country either. It can be found in a number of books and movies where ultra urban exec ends up loving a casual suburban rhythm. Boiled down and stripped of the extras we find ourselves left with a basic complicated vs. simple plot. In every instance I can recall, simple wins. Oh, there are those rare few who truly thrive in the busiest, most stressful of lifestyles, but on the whole, once a person experiences a simpler, more organic way of living, he or she feels set free in a way that cannot be explained with words.

So, here's to an old-fashioned day of the lovely, beautiful ordinary!!! Mighty Man of God, Victorious Man of God, and I have some lunch dishes to wash, laundry to fold, and a yard full of sunshine to roam about, and we're going to love living it together! Later we'll fix supper to greet the rest of the family with when they come home from the hayfield and town. After supper the ordinary loveliness will continue with baths, showers, and the slowdown before bed. If we're not being serenaded by rain drops, yes God, please, then we'll go to bed covered in a canopy of stars shining and singing forth the glory of God. Did you know that the polar stars sing? The Bible says they do, and scientists have found out that God's Word is true.

Have at it friends! Enjoy an ordinary bit of lovely wherever you are knowing that the ordinary day to day isn't boring or dull. It's beautiful, lovely, and extraordinary.

In God's extraordinary love through Jesus,
Abundantly Blessed @ Abundance House
