Breakthrough Is At The Gate

Good Morning! As we head into the few remaining days before Christmas the press of things still undone and incomplete on our do before Christmas lists can seem overwhelming. This word from Elijah List is here to encourage us that "The Breaker Has Come!"

"The Breaker Has Come! Breakthrough Is At The Gate!"
by Dana Jarvis, Richlands,VA

A Holy Invasion!

You have been contending at the gates, seeking a breakthrough in such tremendous warfare. The demonic is trying to create a ceiling of such heaviness over you. However there is something opening up. The Breaker is coming! A breaker anointing is that catalytic deposit of the Holy Spirit where eternity breaks through into the natural realm. It is a holy invasion where the gates of Heaven are broken open with visitations of salvation, healing and deliverance.

Heaven is Going to Invade Earth for Indeed Your Prayers Have Been Heard!

The Lord imparted unto me a powerful vision of the heavens opening. I could see rows upon rows of angels. They would come towards me, one to the right and one to the left of me, like a veil that opened consecutively from angel to angel, opening up as I walked through their ranks.
The entire atmosphere was so electric with excitement! As I reached the end of the line of angels, I felt another mighty presence enter the place where I was. As I turned, there was the mighty King of Glory on a white horse striding down the center of this line of angels on both sides. I could see His piercing eyes burning with such love and passion as He rode in my direction.

At this moment, I could only whisper the words, "Holy, Holy, Holy!" As He came before me, the Lord pointed to His angels and told me to look. I noticed each angel was holding something in its hand. As I looked closer, I noticed one angel was holding revival, the other had the word breakthrough on it, the next one held the word healing in its hands.

The Breaker Has Come!

The Lord has seen that fiery warfare at the gates of your life. He has seen you contending for certain things for so long. You stood when it all seemed hopeless. However, He also sees that you are getting weary in this battle and it is your time for a second wind. The Breaker is coming!
The Lord then told me the angels were ready to go – they are just waiting upon you to get ready! Once you get back up and get a hold of that second wind, the Lord showed me a glimpse of the angels being dispatched and what would happen. Breakthroughs began to take place, healing came forth, the angels placed a flame under some peoples' feet to emblazon them to their destiny. He was even pairing the angels together crying out, "Go, Go, the Breaker has come!"

"The breaker is come up before them: they have broken up, and have passed through the gate, and are gone out by it: and their king shall pass before them, and the Lord on the head of them." (Micah 2:13 KJV)

Like a charging rhino with no fear, or a huge bulldozer taking down the most massive boulders, and like a mighty cannon ball breaking through and down the most high walls is what I see as the Breaker anointing is being released. He is going before you and opening the gates that have been long closed. He is like a dam that bursts with rushing water that cannot be stopped and washing away everything in its path. He is the Lord of Hosts of heavenly armies and there is no enemy that is standing against you that can stop His breakthrough on your behalf. You are going to finish this race and break through the finish line.
The Kingdom of God is Flooding the Airwaves of the Natural as the King of Glory Breaks Through!

At the end of the vision, I could see our King of Glory sitting and watching as the angels went to and fro doing that which was commanded to them. The air is literally saturated with His presence! Are there crooked places in your life that need to be made straight? The anointing straightens your path. Are there seemingly insurmountable obstacles that prevent you from accomplishing what God has for you to do? God will smash through and break into pieces the gates of bronze! Are you imprisoned by inescapable iron bars? God will break them! Get ready.
As I see my Beloved King sitting upon His horse looking down upon His children, I hear him say to you, "It's coming!" The Breaker Himself is breaking through for transformation and can make anything happen...anything! Be prepared to ascend the hill and to climb to greater heights and cover more ground for the Kingdom than you ever thought possible. It's coming! (To Subscribe to the Elijah List go here.)

Simple Extravagance - Homemade Bread

Hey There! Having a child living away from home and cooking for themselves puts a mama in a deliciously easy recipe sharing frame of mind. Here is a super duper easy bread recipe that makes terrific toast and is excellent with soup. It is an English Muffin Bread. Not only is it super duper easy, it is also superbly yummy. This was evidenced by the fact that I thought Mighty Man of God needed to wipe his nose after coming in from the cold outside and it was only butter from the bread on his face. Colonel Redeemed may have also enjoyed the bread immensely, if one could judge by the crumb on the corner of his mustache.

If cooking for only one, you may want to halve the recipe. Then again, once you eat it still a bit warm with melting butter running down your hand you might not. Yes, in spite of what the recipe says, we cut the bread before it had cooled completely. It smelled so good we couldn't wait. Just for the record, none of us regret doing so. I'm thankful the recipe makes four loaves because one of ours is almost gone.

Here's the reicpe:

English Muffin Bread
  • 5 1/2 Cups warm water (110-120 degrees)
  • 3 pkg. rapid rise yeast
  • 2 Tablespoons salt
  • 3 Tablespoons sugar
  • 11 Cups flour
Mix all ingredients together then spoon into four well-greased loaf pans. Let rise in pans until dough reaches the top of the pans(this didn't take as long as I thought it would - less than an hour), and bake in 350 degree oven for 35-45 minutes or until golden brown. Brush with melted butter 10 minutes before done. Makes 4 loaves. Bread will be moist at first. Allow to cool completely before cutting. Makes terrific toast. Bake 20 minutes in mini loaf pans.

Gift basket idea: A loaf of this bread tucked in a basket along with a mason jar filled with some sort of soup or soup mix OR a loaf of this bread with a jar of jelly as a hostess gift when invited to someone's home. There are numerous possibilities for a variety of gift-giving situations: housewarming, new baby, get-well, tea time, on and on the list of possibilities goes.

Note: This bread is also perfect for beginner bakers. Mighty Man of God is eight-years-old and had no difficulty whatsoever mixing this recipe up with Mama standing nearby in case she was needed.

In a season noted for its rich, sweet indulgences the simplicity of bread and butter is a comfort indeed. English Muffin bread is the perfect accompaniment to a salad of dark greens, a cup of hot soup, or a mug of hot tea. Simple yet extravagantly good this recipe may become a treasured favorite.

Basking in love's warmth and the smell of homemade bread,

Preparing Words Ahead

Good Morning! It's Christmas time! Words, words, and more words rushing here and there. They swirl through the sound waves both assaulting and healing our senses relentlessly. Articles sharing how to survive the holiday busy by implementing  preparation and organizational strategies abound. Precious little is left to be said on that particular subject. However, not very much has been said about the implementing of similar strategies, techniques, and tips for our use of words.

Families are marvelous. Families are wonderful. God began the human race with a family. He sent His Son into a family. Families are His idea. Families can also be very very messy and stressful. Holidays with family can become the epic love/hate situation. The whole love being together yet hate it all at the same time feeling opens the door to guilt for many people. Childhood insecurities frequently lurk behind the doors of painful memories where they seem to giggle with wicked glee at every opportunity to slash their next victim with the knife of unkind remembrance. An older brother suddenly remembers what a brat his little sister used to be, the youngest in the family unexpectedly recalls the tormenting trauma older siblings rained down, and somewhere a middle children simmers in a stew of resentment over the mess the whole stinking lot of them are.

These descriptions aren't specifically from my personal life. They do, however, have the potential to manifest in everyone's life in some way. For some these familial conflicts may explode with a loud volcano of verbal lava poisoning an entire gathering. Other families will appear to be perfectly calm on the surface while various members bleed inside from unknown wounds. Still others will have that one random individual who consistently sees themself as a victim no matter how much they are protected and loved by the family. The mess can manifest in a multitude of ways.

What if there was a way to stop the mess, or at least minimize it, in its tracks? What if such a miracle was as easy as planning conversations and our choice of words ahead of time before gathering together? Would such a simple plan be a miraculous cure? For many, yes, putting out the fire before it starts would be a healing miracle indeed. Let's consider some ways preparing our words ahead of time can help reduce holiday stress.

Pre-planning, being organized, holiday preparations can be more than buying gifts, wrapping, and baking. It can also include pre-determined communication strategies, kindness techniques, and last minute fight the snark tips. Responding to others the way they do us is easy; most everyone does it. Planning how to be kind, no matter what others do or say, ahead of time requires a conscious determined decision. How does a person do this? Where does one begin?

Where does one begin? For me, personally, planning my words ahead begins at the place decisions are made, in God's presence and His Word. What does God have for me to say and do this holiday season? How does He see each person that is gathered together in our family? God Holy Spirit has been teaching me to ask myself questions and then choose what I will do and say based on the answers to those questions. One such question I have learned to ask myself is: What sort of wife, mother, daughter, sister do I want to be? What sort of wife, mother, daughter, sister has God made me to be? After contemplating and coming to an answer, I then ask myself what that sort of wife, mother, daughter, sister does? How does she speak to those she loves? How does she listen? How does she love like Jesus loves? Then, the big question: Am I living and speaking like the woman I want to be? Am I being the woman God has made me to be?

After assessing whether or not I am being true to the woman God made me to be by asking and answering these questions I am then able to make conscious determined decisions concerning what sort of tone, attitude, and words I will or will not speak. A God-inside woman isn't afraid of being rejected because she is held close to and filled with the One who will never leave or forsake her. A God-inside woman isn't nervous about what others will think of her housekeeping or cooking because if God be for her who can be against her? A God-inside minded woman isn't worried about whether she is enough or not enough because He who is in her is more than enough. A God-inside minded woman is filled to overflowing with God's love for everyone who enters her home because she knows that He who is in her longs to save, heal, deliver, set free, love, encourage, and show mercy to all. Therefore, she longs for God to do so through her. These are the truths I speak to myself so that I am reminded of who I am in He who is in me. I prepare myself from the inside out.

As I learn to do this more and more I realize that the more fully I prepare myself in Christ, the less all of the exterior details matter. It's a guaranteed stress evaporator to live with a consciousness of God inside. The potatoes aren't done on time? No sweat. God has everything under control. No sense getting sweaty armpits over spuds. That's silly. Very few details are as important as I think they are. Me remaining in Christ matters much more than any natural circumstance. This same preparation can be used before going out of my home and about town. Before I enter the shopping scene, I can determine what sort of customer and shopper I will be. What does Jesus inside of a woman shopping look and sound like? What sort of words, facial expressions, and emotions does she or does she not share with the world around her?

Checkout clerks who appear war torn need me to look and sound like Jesus. What are Jesus' words to a tired, worn, and harried clerk in the checkout line? What healing balm does Jesus plan for me to extend? What does that grouchy service tech look like to Christ? Will God's patience coming out through me be a soothing salve? Did that snarky salesperson single me alone out of all the many customers to snarl at? Not likely. Therefore, I will make a determined decision before I leave my home to listen to God Holy Spirit and respond with God's love and grace to everyone I meet this day. I will guard the gates of my lips and extend a smile of God's healing grace. Perhaps a genuine smile in a season full of haste and hurry is the greatest gift the people I meet will receive. Is there anything I am looking for or purchasing in the stores of more importance than the people? No. Nothing. I don't know of anything more important to God than the people He has created. Those I come in contact with are of infinite value to Him, and so am I.

Preparing myself from the inside out before the seasonal gatherings, as a well-known homemaker says, "It's a good thing."

Praying showers of God's love and blessings in and through you this day,
Abundantly Blessed

No Stress

Hi! I was only going to pop in for a visit once a week, but this devotional was so super good I had to stop in and share it with all of you! It's on stress and how to eliminate it. Here is the link: http://kennethcopelandministries.org/shine-light-stress-5/. Enjoy!

We Have the Good News!!!

With so many negative words flooding the airwaves, be encouraged dear one God is not finished! He Who has begun a good thing will complete it! May we all go out in boldness in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ!
Abundantly Blessed

This past month we, in this great nation, were shown incredible mercy in the presidential election; a mercy we did not deserve but were graciously extended by the hand of God. Once again, God has shed His grace on thee!
I am a "grace guy" through and through. No doubt, I need it every day. What grace do I need? His grace...a grace revealed by the Apostle Paul in Titus 2:11-15"For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation to all men, instructing us to deny ungodliness and all worldly desires and to live sensibly, righteously and godly in the present age, looking for the blessed hope and the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior, Christ Jesus, who gave Himself for us to redeem us from every lawless deed, and to purify for Himself a people for His own possession, zealous for good deeds. These things speak and exhort and reprove with all authority. Let no one disregard you."
I believe we should rejoice in this victory in our land without apology to anyone, yet in a spirit of humility not haughtiness; knowing that we have been shown great mercy. But for what purpose have we been shown mercy? Is it to go back to the status quo, to go back to compromise, to "unsanctified human mercy", and politically correct toleration? No, we have been shown mercy to take back the 7 mountains of culture and establish the agenda of the Kingdom of God in our land!
I inquired of the Lord what posture should we take after this remarkable upset (for those who are prophetic it was not an upset but a confirmation) in the Presidential election. I felt the Lord leading me to remember the story of David and Goliath.
David and Goliath
We all know the story of David, the shepherd boy, who had killed the lion and the bear while he was protecting the sheep. When he arrived at the battlefield to give provision to his brothers, he found that the entire army of God's covenant people were immobilized and filled with fear at the taunts of the champion Goliath, of the Philistine army. The Philistines worshipped false gods, they sacrificed their children to their idols, they cursed God, they hated everything about God's commandments and those who revered them, and those who loved and served the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. (Photo via Wikimedia Commons)
When David heard the slanderous taunts of Goliath and saw the fear of the Israelite army, he was incensed and said, "Who is this uncircumcised Philistine who taunts the army of the living God!" (1 Samuel 17:26.)
When Saul realized he had a potential combatant to go up against Goliath, he attempted to have David wear the "armor" that all the Israelite army wore, he even attempted to have David wear his (Saul's) own armor! David tried it on and saw that it was not "a fit" for him. Instead, he decided to use the weapons that had worked for him in the past!
The Response of the Israelites to David's Conquest
David went up against this giant Goliath. Goliath ridiculed him, demeaned David before all the armies, blasphemed God, declared his own invincibility, and trusted in his own size, strength, and past victories! I am sure that many, on both sides of the conflict, were "betting" heavily on David's "sure" loss.
What happened next shocked both sides. David reached down and pulled one of the 5 stones he had gathered from the stream (remember Goliath had 4 brothers, for David had more than Goliath in mind! 2 Sam. 21:22). He placed one stone in his well-used sling and began to swing it around his head, creating a sound that filled the silenced battlefield, a sound of the swirling winds of the motion of God's ordained weapon against Goliath. David released the stone and it found its mark and sunk deep in Goliath's forehead and knocked the giant Goliath down, wounded and in great agony!
ElijahList Prophetic Resources
David did not celebrate and walk back to the Israelite army, no, he ran toward the felled Goliath and picked up Goliath's own sword and cut the giant's head off! What did the Israelites do when they beheld David's victory? Did the army of God seek to comfort those Philistines who had oppressed them, taunted them, and defied their God? Did they turn around and say that was a great victory for David, and let's go back to life as normal?
No, they took the fight to them and prevailed in light of David's great victory over the Philistines Champion Goliath! When the Israelite army saw what just happened, they were emboldened and pursued the now afraid and fleeing Philistine army and defeated them and plundered them. (1 Samuel 17:50-55)
Our Call to Action
For the past 50 years or more, our nation and its leaders, have embraced and promoted a "Philistine culture" and celebrated "Goliath champions", in all the 7 mountains of our culture. We are now in a defining hour and moment in our history as a nation. We are in the deciding moment of our future, and the question is, "What will we as His covenant people do?"
I realize, "Our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms." (Eph. 6:12). Yet we have to realize that a great victory has occurred in this nation for the covenant people of God!
We now have the mandate from Heaven to ramp up our intercession, prayer, and declarations of God's Kingdom. We've been given a mandate to bring down rulers and powers that have enslaved and perverted the minds of millions. To activate, put on the armor of God, and get about the business of advancing God's Kingdom in this nation!(Photo via Wikipedia)
Share the Good News
The Gospel of the Kingdom is good news that proclaims freedom from captivity, deliverance from satan's grip, forgiveness of sins, new life and a new creation in Christ! His love and truth delivers us from the grip of destruction, self-destructive mindsets and world views that advance the agenda of darkness and death, as opposed to His blessing and life! His love and truth sets us free from self-destruction, sin, the world, and satan's grip...it does not comfort us in our rebellion but it leads us to freedom!
We have just experienced the beginning of a "Jubilee" manifestation of Isaiah 61 proportions in this nation, yet it is only a battle won, not a war finished. Please don't be short circuited by the clamor and pain of those who are threatened by their loss of hope for a godless society and culture, but rather be emboldened by this battle won, rejoice, and press into the war that must be fought with the assurance that His Kingdom is indeed coming on earth as it is in Heaven! (To Subscribe to the Elijah List go here.)

Forgetting Not

"I can't forget..."
"Don't let me forget to..."
"We have to remember..."

Are these phrases familiar to you? They are to me. With a husband and more than one child running around, in, and through the house, not to mention my own doings, these phrases frequently exit the gates otherwise known as my lips. Have you ever considered  your lips as gates? They really are a gate for words. If my lips remain closed no words get out, and if they are open a whole lot might be loosed.

The Holy Season often becomes filled to the brim and running over with words. Words advertising sales and bargains, displays and programs, love and hate, words, words, words abound, and each of us is responsible for choosing which words we will, or will not, meditate upon. Oh yes, we all meditate: utter, mutter, and ponder. What we will meditate on is the decision that's ours alone to make. Sometimes, in the busyness, we forget this.

As we anticipate Christ's coming with eagerness and joy, may each and every one of us not forget to choose words wisely, both the words we speak and the ones we utter, mutter, and ponder. May the Word, Emmanuel, God With Us, be our constant meditation and may God Holy Spirit act as guard over the gates of our lips.  May we ever bear in mind that we are the body of  He who has come and is coming soon.

Do you hear that clamor in the background? Some of my favorite people are waiting for me to help them right now. We can visit more next week. Maybe we can talk about how much holiday stress can be relieved, even eliminated, by planning our words ahead. Until next week remember how extravagantly God loves you, and that He truly is Emmanuel, God With Us.

OH!!! If you ever need to know, Christmas and potty-training can be done together. Wouldn't necessarily  recommend it, but it can be done. Finally. Another thing for a mama to remember is that each and every child is unique in every way and will accomplish everything they need to accomplish in their own, sweet time and in their own way. Even though their way may not necessarily be entirely sweet.

An Afternoon Chat

Hi! It's a windy afternoon here at Abundance House. It is almost time to start prepping for supper, but it is such a perfect afternoon for visiting I couldn't resist popping in for a little bit. Want some iced tea? There's some brewed, if you would like some.

So, as we already talked about earlier this week, there isn't much time left until Thanksgiving. Did you happen to print out any of those free printables at www.notconsumed.com? We are thoroughly enjoying ours. With Thanksgiving filling our hearts and minds, it seems only natural that thoughts of harvest treats should pop up. I don't know if we've ever shared our Thanksgiving feast plans on the blog before, but this year I am super excited about something new being added to the lineup.

This year I have been intentionally planning munchies and snacks for after dinner football watching. Supper will be leftovers but for in between time munchies we're doing a Thanksgiving caramel corn mix. Homemade caramel corn with Rolos candy and harvest color M&Ms will not only look festive but be super yummy to munch on. Savory options for munchies are still being decided upon. Want ideas for your own Thanksgiving Feast? Try a Pinterest search. Great ideas abound for every style and budget. There may be a scavenger hunt or other fun activities for those who aren't particularly into football too, maybe.

In the meantime, here is an article from Assortment blog. I really, really enjoy this blog. If you haven't ever visited before, an afternoon spent browsing through the archives would be time well spent. http://www.assortmentblog.com/assortment/2016/11/with-what-you-have-59.html?utm_source=feedblitz&utm_medium=FeedBlitzRss&utm_campaign=assortmentblog/kmin

Happy Almost Thanksgiving!

Giving Thanks

Are you ready to celebrate with gratitude? There is so much to be thankful for! However, many seem to be caught in a dangerous cycle, one that will strangle them out of all the joy in living. What's a person to do when everyone around them seems to be stuck in nasty negative-ville? GIVE THANKS!!!

Need some help getting started on the road towards Thankfulness? Some outside motivation required? Here are a couple websites offering free printables sure to get a person in gratitude gear. Dating Divas has a free Count Your Many Blessings countdown to Thanksgiving banner that is fabulous.
http://www.thedatingdivas.com/thanksgiving-countdown-banner/ Our family printed it out and put it together this morning. Don't forget to look at the picture of the completed banner on the website before beginning. Just sayin'.

Another website with free printables  is Not Consumed at www.notconsumed.com. There are three collections of free printables which can stir the heart to be grateful. One such activity is titled Make Me a Servant. It contains BINGO style game boards containing a variety of random acts of kindness. After a family has completed five acts of service in a row they family earns a treat. We are using it as a Thanksgiving activity, but it isn't season specific. There is also a Thanksgiving Hymn Puzzle Hunt and Thanksgiving Journal available to print out too. Don't stop at Thanksgiving. All three collections contain blessing after printable blessing. You and your family will fully enjoy these collections.

From our House of Thankful Abundance to yours this Thanksgiving,

May you be Abundantly Blessed

The Sacrifice of Love

Good Afternoon! For months and months and months and months I have been waiting for the right words to express the depths of my heart. This afternoon I read the words my heart has been wanting to speak. They were in an article at Grace Table written by Lori Harris. Please take the time to click on the enclosed link. Once you've sat down at Grace Table, allow the stress of the day to melt away as you freely partake of the word feast spread before you.

Also, if you are wanting an example of love's sacrifice in the here and now, head on over to So Much Moore. A wife and mom shares how "the boys" in her life love her big and that love's sacrifice need not be major to bless large.

Over and over in millions of ways my favorite people in the whole world, My Beloved and children, love me sacrificially. That is where the name Abundance House came from for this blog and also why I sign each post as Abundantly Blessed. Because I am blessed abundantly. Every day those who surround me provide in the flesh examples of Jesus by laying down their lives for me in countless ways both big and small. As I contemplate love's sacrifice and what it looks like in my life here on earth, I can't ignore the intense longing that rises up from within. Oh that I love others as I am loved, abundantly.

Learning the art of Love's Sacrifice,

Meals in 10 Minutes or Less

A nutritious, home-cooked meal in 10 or less? Impossible? Not with a little advance prep work. In honor of Miss Mustard Seed's soon departure into the Big Wide World on her own, Abundance House is posting a break down of the 10 min. or less meal. We pray it is a blessing to meal planners in need of super quick, home-cooked meals.

Note: All items need to be prepared in advance and stored properly in refrigerator. Because we want to provide super quick options for super busy families, ingredients included in this chart require 30 min. or less of advance prep work or can be cooked in a crockpot overnight. Any and all ingredients can be switched out to fit individual needs and/or tastes. This chart is merely a jumping off point for the imagination. 2nd Note: Some have used this advance prep as a date with marvelous results. Cooking together is reported to be quite romantic for some couples and appears to rank high for date ideas.

Also, salads and pasta dishes can be prepared and stored in mason jars for super duper quick grab and go meal options. Attaching eating utensils to the side of the jar with tape, or some other way, would enable children to pack their own lunches with ease. Note for when using salad dressing in salads with greens and/or pasta:  the quality of the salad may be diminished by adding dressings too far in advance. They can be added in advance but may result in soggy salads if too long a time between their addition and eating occurs. Different dressings produce different results. Unfortunately, some of what works best can only be discovered by experience.

Okay, here's how this works. Take 30 minutes early in the week, many choose Sunday afternoon, and prepare/cook desired ingredients. This won't likely take over an hour and may be completed in as little as half that time. Once ingredients have been prepared and cooled, place in desired storage container and store in refrigerator. When meal time rolls around, grab a base, choose a protein, throw in/on your veggies and/ add-ins, toss them together, or layer them on a platter, and viola' ! You and your family are eating a meal in 10 min. or less. Choosing to wait until actual meal time to cook the meat/protein may increase kitchen to table time. However, if cooking sliced or chopped meats, the meal can still clock in at 30 min. or under, even if you make your own salad dressing/sauce from scratch!

Another option, except for some of the greens, is to choose your ingredients and create a soup by adding broth or vegetable juice and heating in a pot. If using ingredients cooked in advance, soup too is possible in 30 minutes or less. How comforting would that be on a cold wintry night when served with a side of crusty bread and/or fresh salad?

  • pasta of choice
  • rice
  • salad greens
  • dried beans
  • any other family favorite: veggie noodles, egg noodles, etc.
  • Chicken
  • Steak - can be grilled or prepared according to family preferences in advance OR sliced/cubed while uncooked then quickly cooked in pan for immediate use (Could consider marinating with sauces or rubs that fit family taste preferences)
  • Roast
  • Fish
  • wild game
  • family favorite
Veggies/Other Add-ins:
  • too many choices to list individually!
  • vegetables: chopped, minced, sliced, cubed, grated, cook or uncooked
  • Spices: innumerable options
  • Sauces: meat, tomato, cheese, white, Alfredo
  • Fried egg
  • shredded cheese
  • crushed chips
  • croutons
Using this approach for creating meals can also allow leftovers to be re-served in original new ways that hopefully won't elicit groans from those eating. Every family has seasons when preparing meals isn't able to take a lot of time. Thankfully, those seasons don't last forever. There will be days for simmering, stirring, and chopping for hours, if a person wants. When that isn't possible and time isn't there, a healthy quick option exists. Family meal time need not be sacrificed on the altar of busy.

To super quick meals and those who eat them!
Abundantly Blessed

A Week's Menu Using Planned Leftovers

Planned leftovers. What are those? They are leftovers a cook plans on having leftover at the end of one meal so that they can be incorporated into another meal later on. Here's a week's sample menu using  planned leftovers. No leftovers planned? No problem. These meals can also be prepared with unplanned leftovers that just happen to end up in the fridge together. The meals in the menu are neither gourmet nor complicated. They are all very basic, simple meals. The purpose of this post is to share how a person can cook once and eat twice. Doing so can provide not only a home-cooked meal but also a sense of calm sanity for super busy days.

Monday noon: mac 'n cheese or goulash
Monday Supper: steak, baked potato, and veggie of choice

Tuesday noon: chili

Thursday noon: Ham 'n Bean soup
Thursday supper:  potato, egg, and cheese scramble using leftover potatoes from Monday supper and leftover shredded cheese from Tuesday noon's chili

Friday supper: Pizza and salad

Saturday noon: turkey tetrazinni using turkey cooked in crockpot day before and any leftover spaghetti noodles
Saturday supper: vegetable noodle beef soup using leftover veggie sides, ham 'n bean soup, and roast beef from earlier meals throughout the week. Can be complemented by adding side sandwiches and/or salad

Obviously, fast food doesn't have to be takeout and/or drive-thru. If even quicker cooked-from-home meals are needed, a half-hour of advance preparation early in the week can set the stage for an entire week's worth of meals that require 10 minute or less to get on the table. We'll chat about that tomorrow.

Gotta go stir that pot of veggie beef and bean noodle soup.

No Medical Situation Requiring Abortion

No Medical Situation Requires 3rd Trimester Abortion or Killing the Baby! -Dr. Lawrance K. Koning, MD, FACOG
Steve ShultzFrom Steve Shultz (Founder of BCN News, The Elijah List) - I was stunned watching the debates to see how readily Hillary Clinton was to show approval of partial birth abortions right up until the time of the baby's birth. And I was thrilled to hear Donald Trump say with conviction, "THAT'S NOT OK WITH ME!"
In 1973, I graduated from Christian Academy with Larry Koning. Now he's Dr. Lawrence Koning, MD, and an OB/GYN specialist in Corona, CA. After watching the same debate last night, he posted a quote on his personal Facebook page which I share below.
This morning I asked Lawrence if I could share it with our readers. He thought about it only for a moment and sent back this message, "Do it!"
Dr. Lawrence Koning wrote:
October, 20, 2016: "As an OB/GYN physician for 31 years, there is no medical situation that requires aborting / killing the baby in the third trimester to 'save the mother's life.' Just deliver the baby by C-section and the baby has 95+% survival with readily available NICU care even at 28 weeks. C-section is quicker and safer than partial birth abortion for the mother."-Dr. Lawrance K. Koning, MD, FACOG
Lord, let there be more Godly physicians willing to go public with their convictions! (To Subscribe to the Elijah List go here.)

Next Great Awakening

There seem to be more guest posts than usual here at Abundance House, but I don't want anyone to miss these words. So...today we are featuring another word from The Elijah List. May you enjoy celebrating God tabernacling with us during this week of Succot aka The Feast of Tabernacles.

Abundantly Blessed

"On Yom Kippur I Saw the Next Great Awakening!"
by Ivan Roman, Medford, OR

As I waited on the Lord on the Day of Atonement (Yom Kippur), the Lord spoke to me. I saw a flaming sword and heard the word, "Awakening."

I then heard, "I'm awakening My people to the truth of their sonship."

If you have been in the Church for any length of time, you have heard prophecies about another great awakening or a great revival coming. I believe this is true, but the greatest awakening coming is when the Church realizes how good God is and how He sees us as His beloved children.

This next "awakening" can't be stopped! Instead of being performance-driven and goal-oriented, it's coming out of our eternal position in Christ. The fire on the sword is burning religiosity in our hearts that keeps us striving to get God to do something that He deeply desires to do and has even promised to do.

The orphan spirit that operates in legalism and performance is being exposed.

I saw ministers burnt out from striving to get God to move, and the people following them grew more and more exhausted as well.

New Strategies Out of Sonship and Rest

I then heard, "Cast your net on the other side."

Luke 5:4-6, "When He had finished speaking, He said to Simon, 'Put out into the deep water and let down your nets for a catch.' Simon answered and said, 'Master, we worked hard all night and caught nothing, but I will do as You say and let down the nets.' When they had done this, they enclosed a great quantity of fish, and their nets began to break."

Sometimes it requires us getting exhausted in human effort before we stop long enough to listen to the voice of the Father. New strategies are coming this year out of sonship, out of rest, that will birth ideas and cause the Church to come alive and bring in the harvest with ease.

The word connected to Awakening this year is the word "Rest."

Not rest as inactivity, but resting in the Father's love and hearing Him and obeying.

I also heard, "I want My people to live with expectation of what I'm going to do again."
Unbelief is being dealt with in our hearts as we enter this new year. Out of the revelation of God, as not just Father but beloved Dad, we will possess the faith of children again as we receive the joy of our salvation.

A Lifetime of Favor

The revelation of living in the continual favor of the Lord is coming upon us. Favor is not seasonal; favor is what Christ declared upon reading Luke 4:19, "...the year of the Lord's favor." Not just a year but a lifetime for those in Christ.

We are transitioning from a sin-based understanding of Christianity, where God's whole plan was to get rid of sin to get us and to Heaven, to a theology rooted in the Father's desire as found in Ephesians 1:3-5:
"All praise to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly realms because we are united with Christ. Even before He made the world, God loved us and chose us in Christ to be holy and without fault in His eyes. God decided in advance to adopt us into His own family by bringing us to Himself through Jesus Christ. This is what He wanted to do, and it gave Him great pleasure."
I prophesy a great awakening! One in which the Church will be awakened to the truth of their position as sons and daughters of a loving, merciful Father. This awakening will lead to countless souls being won for Christ, innovative ideas that shift cultures, but ultimately it will detox the Church from religious entanglements that have hindered our ability to see the Father the way Jesus told Phillip. "If you've seen Me, you've seen the Father" (John 14:9).

I prophesy we are in the greatest reformation known to man, where our understanding of the nature and character of God is being transformed from "sinners in the hands of an angry God" to "children in the hands of a loving and merciful Father."

Take time this year to slow down from the religious activities that are burning you out and spent time listening to voice of your heavenly Father. More will be produced out of those who have been detoxed out of performance-based religion than those still striving to please God. Lovers produce more than servants. The Chief Cornerstone and Embodiment of Grace

Invite Jesus, the very embodiment of grace, to be the capstone—the cornerstone—of your life. Then watch grace pour down over the mountains that have stood before you to become a level-plain. Grace will give you rest; grace will do for you what you cannot do for yourself.

"Cease striving and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth." Psalm 46:10

Our God is powerful and good, and we can rest, because we trust in His love. The God of grace is the initiator of your journey and He will complete it. Just as the sunrise hour is a time where life feels "still" and yet creation is alive with beauty, so you are being called into the stillness of trust that makes room for beauty to shine forth.

I will leave you with this verse: "The God of peace will soon crush satan under your feet. The grace of our Lord Jesus be with you." Romans 16:20

Grace and peace in God will crush your enemy...He is our mighty Warrior and Defender. Be still. (To Subscribe to the Elijah List go here.)

Thinking Differently

I don't know how much time has passed since I began sensing an urgency to align my thoughts with God's completely. The impression that what the media was showing wasn't truth and that the doomsday outlook is not the perspective God intends a Christ-follower to possess became unavoidably intense in my spirit. Scripture after scripture began to come to my remembrance in confirmation of these strong impressions I believe are the loving reminders of God Holy Spirit.

At times the peace of God and trust in Him was so great I wondered if I had ceased to care. Alas, not so. A few quick tests to gauge whether or not it was the Peace of God or a lack of concern revealed my level of compassion and love for mankind to be at an all time high - and rising. Often a thought that perhaps I ought to be at least a little bit worked up about this or that would flit through. Yet no matter how much my thoughts attempted to chase away the peace of Jehovah Shalom, calm trust prevailed. It is prevailing still.

The worse the situations look, the closer I feel to the Lord. The time when we are united together forever is closer than ever before. The future becomes more real every moment, and this fact has produced some of the most passionate desires I have ever experienced. Everywhere we look we can see the words from the Bible being lived out before us as. Things I used to wonder about are now crystal clear. Time has begun to transition, and I don't even know for sure what that entails. I just know it is so. Somehow I know that this is not the time for fear, doubt, striving, or any form of selfishness. This isn't about me. It is to be about Him. This is the time to put away childish, selfish desires and go all out for God and God alone.

He is wooing me, drawing me to join Him in the shelter of the Secret Place. Amazingly, the deeper I enter into the Secret Place, the farther out into the harvest field He sends me. With so many new situations arising and acts of violence and terrorism being revealed, it has become very plain that I don't know enough to have a personal opinion. The only opinion worth having is His, God's. I don't know how to vote, but God inside of me does. I don't know what, where, or who is safe, but God inside of me does. I don't know whether I will need an item in the future or ought to bless someone else with it now, but God inside of me knows. He knows. He has always known. It is time for me to live as if I believe what I profess to believe. It isn't a time for me to spout off religious jargon or learned theological opinions of men. Now is not the time to be obsessed with myself, my desires, my wants, my plans, how people make me feel, my anything. It is time to be a follower of Christ. Period. Nothing more and definitely nothing less.

And this is where one of the words in today's Elijah List postings comes in. Even though Rosh Hashanah has passed, today (October 12) is Yom Kippur, the Day of Atonement, the words from the Lord are real and true. As you read the following word from Ken Malone I pray you are encouraged to step out in complete assurance in God and His perfect care of you because I believe it is true: God has wondrous surprises for us.

"God Has an October Surprise for You..."
by Ken Malone, Champions Gate, FL

The October Surprise

When the Lord spoke to me in August 2016 about the things that will begin to take place in October 2016, He said, "There is an October Surprise." I didn't know whether it would be good or bad. What we have to remember about a SURPRISE is that it is always a disclosure of things that have been hidden. The October Surprise is just beginning. As it turns out – it's not just one surprise but many surprises.

Below are some revelations the Lord said would begin at Rosh Hashanah, October 2, 2016:

Realignment of Relationships
The winds of apostolic change are blowing across the land and realigning you. The Lord is ready to reposition you for His Kingdom harvest. Some who have been with you in the past can't go to the place God is taking you. Be willing to cut unhealthy soul ties and move forward into an ordained destiny. At Rosh Hashanah (Oct. 2) the Lord will unlock brand new doors of destiny for you. Let go of your baggage. It can't go to the new place the Lord has for your destiny.

Realignment of Assignment
Jesus said that if it's not bearing fruit to cut it off. There is a realignment of assignment that is coming to you. Take inventory of what your ministry is doing. Is it bearing fruit? If it's not bearing fruit, it may be time to move on.

As we come into Rosh Hashanah (Oct. 2) the Lord is going to impart new assignments. With these new assignments will come another level of authority to accomplish His plan in the earth. Make sure that you discard old baggage and get out of baggage claim. Stop rehearsing your trauma and drama. A new, unusual and exciting assignment is coming your way.

Realignment of Vision
The Holy Spirit continues to send apostolic winds realigning your vision. How do you see? Do you see God bringing a greater awakening (National Revival) into the earth or do you see it having no hope? Do you see the way Heaven sees? Heaven sees in seven dimensions and Heaven responds to what it sees (see Zechariah 4:10 and Revelation 5:6).

Align your vision with Heaven and you will begin to receive heavenly results. Doomsday preachers offer little to no hope. It's because man is reacting to what he sees in the earth rather than responding to the vision of Heaven. There is hope if you begin seeing the way Heaven sees.

At Rosh Hashanah (Oct. 2) the Lord will impart new vision. His vision will release Heaven into earth. Will you respond or react? Prune your negative mindset that has no faith and begin responding in faith to Christ's vision. A new vision awaits you!

Realignment of Identity
Holy Spirit continues to send you apostolic winds to realign you for His Kingdom purpose. These winds are here to challenge your identity.
Some today have a false identity and as a result, they can't find their way. Those in LGBTQ community struggle with having a true identification.

It is also true that some within the Church have found their identity (or they have tried to find their identity) in pastors, programs, function and ministry. The co-dependency between ministers and sheep has created identification dysfunction. You're so busy with things you haven't found the "One Thing" (see Psalm 27:4).

Your distinction can only be found in Christ. Realignment of your identity is essential in order for you to fulfill His destiny in your life. At Rosh Hashanah (Oct. 2) a huge reset will take place. Be ready, forsake your former identity and go after Him and you will be found in Him (see Philippians 3:9). As you go after Him you will take on His character. In Him I live and move, and have my being (see Acts 17:28).

Realignment of Paradigms
The winds of apostolic change continue to blow in your life. These winds are blowing against the paradigms that keep you from moving forward into your Godly inheritance. Think differently! (Repent is from the Greek word, metanoiawhich means to think differently.) When John the Baptist and Jesus said, "Repent for the Kingdom of Heaven is at hand," they were saying, "Think differently because the Kingdom of Heaven is here."

At Rosh Hashanah (Oct. 2) watch as paradigm shifts begin to take place. Think differently. Heaven will open up over you and your inheritance will begin to come in. (To Subscribe to the Elijah List go here.)
