Times Are Different And Life Goes On
So, yes. There are nasty things going on around the world right now. Many of them are taking place right here in our own nation and hometowns. It is also true that everyday life, while different than last year, is still going on. The basics of every day living are still needed. Houses need cleaned. Laundry needs washed, dried, and put away, and meals need to be prepared. Not only are they necessary, many may need to do these as economically as possible.
Just as "normal life" currently looks different than it did several years ago, so too this blog looks different than it did in a previous season of life. When we were Living Large on Less instead of Abundance House, our visits consisted mostly of practical, money-saving tips. These resources were intended to make abundant living possible even for those with extremely limited financial resources. Even as world events changed every day living for people, so too life circumstances changed the conversations on our blog.
Puttering around the kitchen earlier today I was cleaning counters with homemade all-purpose cleaning spray. We keep the cleaner in a homemade sprayer made from a repurposed glass jar and sprayer top. As I inhaled the fresh lemony scent of the homemade cleaner and appreciated how well it cleaned while also being healthy, it came to me that perhaps it was time for me to start posting again. Some of the previous posts we shared on Living Large on Less all those years ago might be helpful to an entirely new set of readers.
I will be completely up front and admit we do not make as much from scratch as we used to. However, I will also honestly admit that this is not because the recipes we shared were bad or didn't work well. Daily living just looks different in this current season of life. However, it wouldn't surprise me if we return to using more homemade products in the very near future simply because products aren't as readily available in the stores or we choose to use our financial resources in other ways.
