A Portion of Peace

Can you imagine yourself sitting at this table listening to the birds sing while feeling the gentle breeze blowing your hair? Can you feel the cool droplets of water collecting on the outside of your water glass? Are you barefoot? Can you feel the gravel under your feet? Are you wiggling your toes down deep or are you lightly running your feet back and forth across the smooth round pebbles?

WHAT??? Woman! Are you crazy? Don't you know the entire world has gone loco? Why, HOW, could I possibly imagine anything as soft, quiet, and calm as birds singing and a gentle breeze when I have supplies to gather, food to find, and bills to pay? Have you lost your ever living mind? The world is falling apart! Our nation is dying!

No, I haven't lost my mind. No the world is NOT falling apart. No, our nation is NOT dying. Not even close. If you feel like you might be on the verge of "losing it" due to the intense pressure all around then please stop. Right now I invite you to take a deep breath, and just breathe for a few seconds, longer if you will. JUST BREATHE. Breathe in the fragrance of God's presence.

In the name of Jesus I command any and all pressure to be loosed from your body and soul. I bind the presence of Jehovah Shalom, God your peace, to you - ALL of you, in Jesus' name. Now I invite you to take some time to sit with Jesus the lover of your soul. Go ahead. Do it, even if you have to force yourself. Even if all the millions of things to be done are running through your mind nonstop. Nothing will be lost; however, much can be gained by even a few seconds in His presence. Imagine what a few minutes will do.

May I encourage you today? While all around you is chaos and panic, peace is your portion. Will you receive it? Will you allow yourself to remember Whose you are, dear one. Will you allow Him to be your focus of attention? Will you pause and bring to mind, maybe even feast for a while, on the promises of our Omniscient Omnipotent, Omnipresent God, He Who has purchased our peace with His sacrifice?

We are still the redeemed, delivered, and healed. He is still our Savior, Deliverer, and Healer. He still keeps us. We are His, the sheep of His pasture, and He leads us beside the still waters. He restores our soul. It is He who provides our every need and protects us. Remember, ONLY & ALWAYS it is He. None other, ONLY He. Only Jesus
