Do What You Can

Every so often I catch myself thinking "I need to blog this!" Just like I did years ago when Not of This World and I blogged about living large on less. However, the reason we switched gears with our writing and combined the two blogs comes to mind, and I don't.

There were so many money-saving blogs in blogdom, at that time, our readers really didn't need any more advice. Especially when so few of them were living in the same situation we were. Our remote country lifestyle wasn't applicable to the majority of people reading our blog.

We wanted to be helpful, not clever or creative. Though being clever and/or creative is never a bad thing, it wasn't the blog's purpose. When the blog was no longer able to fulfill its purpose it was time to go a new direction.

Recently, just as Not of This World and I did several years ago, I have been reassessing the future of this blog. Am I supposed to be blogging? Is this a God idea or is this something I thought up? Is there a different avenue to communicate from the heart than this?

The questions flow freely, but the answers are taking their own sweet time getting here. The answers remind me of molasses while the tea of my questions seems to be getting cold in the cup waiting for those answers to pour forth. It's as if I'm tapping out random rhythms on a mental counter with an imaginative spoon while I wait. I'm eager and ready to stir things together as soon as God reveals His plan.

This afternoon a portion of scripture from my devotions seemed to echo the prayers I have been praying. The words of David closely resemble my heart's requests. Maybe you too are praying questions and are waiting for God's answers. Perhaps praying the Psalmist's words will quiet the tapping of your imaginative spoon as they have mine.

Psalm 37:3-5
"Keep trusting in the Lord and do what is right in his eyes. Fix your heart on the promises of God and you will be secure, feasting on his faithfulness. Make God the utmost delight and pleasure of your life, and he will provide for you what you desire the most. Give God the right to direct your life, and as you trust him along the way you'll find he pulled it off perfectly!"

Psalm 25:4,5 TPT
"Lord, direct me throughout my journey so I can experience your plans for my life. Reveal the life-paths that are pleasing to you. Escort me along the way; take me by the hand and teach me. For you are the God of my increasing salvation; I have wrapped my heart into yours!"

Waiting for answers together,
Abundantly Blessed
