A Holy Covenant, The Mayflower Compact

Yesterday, Wednesday, November 11, 2020, marked the 400th anniversary of the signing of the Mayflower Compact by the Pilgrims. This group of people had come to a new land seeking freedom in worship. Their hearts were following hard after God, and they desired the freedom to express their devotion freely, as they so chose. Before disembarking, the Pilgrims entered into covenant. They signed the Mayflower Compact stating that this new land was dedicated by the grace of God and that His glory would flow out covering the entire world from this land's shores. This land was dedicated to God for the purpose of spreading the Gospel of Jesus Christ throughout the entire world. This is what America was founded for: spreading the glory of God, the message of Jesus, everywhere.

Yesterday, Wednesday, November 11, 2020, was also Veteran's Day, the day set aside for remembering those who have fought for our physical freedom. Isn't it interesting that the anniversary of those who sacrificed for our religious freedom is the same day we remember those who likewise fought for our physical freedom? While I ponder on this "coincidence" the following words are flowing out in a prayer:

"Lord, keep pouring out your unfailing love on those who are near you. Release more of your blessings to those who are loyal to you." Psalm 36:10 TPT
