Lists, lists, lists

I realize several posts have already been published about preparing for whatever may be coming in the future. It just seems as if there is a nudging to write a little bit more about this topic, even if it does rehash some of the things we've already discussed. Hopefully, these posts will be more "bite-size" and less "wordy" aka more user friendly. This first post is a general summary of how I personally prepare. I use these steps to prepare for everything: birthday parties, cleaning weeks, Christmas, branding, this is my go-to process for it all.

How Do I Prepare?

  1. Pray
  2. Make a list: Write down everything a typical week(or day) includes. Include activities, chores, jobs, meals, snacks, everything.
  3. Using above list, make new lists of supplies and ingredients used for each activity, task, meal, and so on.
  4. Go through home and gather and/or cross off all items and supplies already on hand (Two weeks supply of).
  5. Create shopping list of remaining items and supplies not already in home.
  6. Consider any and all birthdays, holidays, other special occasions in coming year. Add needed gifts, cards, supplies, ingredients for special meals, etc. to shopping list. (Making a separate list for special occasions may be helpful.)
  7. Begin obtaining and gathering all items on shopping list(s).
  8. Remain flexible to changes that pop up unexpectedly making necessary adjustments as needed.
