Sometimes...

Thanks be to God every day is not a "sometimes" day, but sometimes the cold seems to go on and on and on. Sometimes the icicles hang long. Sometimes the dust bunnies threaten to take over the kingdom. Sometimes the mountain of unwashed laundry becomes an entire range of mountains instead of one lone peak. Sometimes a mink gets in the chicken house. Sometimes your seven-year-old discovers said mink visited the chickens in the night. Sometimes mamas wish they could make what their child has seen suddenly disappear from their child's memory. Sometimes children are braver and stronger than their mama. Sometimes children and mamas thank God hard for one lone surviving chicken the mink miraculously missed. Sometimes even cheesecake doesn't make it better. Those times? Mama goes to have a cuppa tea with her Abba, her Heavenly Father. He's the only One who can heal the hurt and provide the wisdom mamas need sometimes. 

Thanking God for one chicken, snow-melting sunshine, and His strength for the unexpected.
