Getting wax out of the pot

There are several ways to get the wax out of the candle jar. The method you choose will depend on the amount of wax in your container. If there is a fairly large bit of wax left at the bottom of the jar, put the jar in the freezer for a bit and then gently (very gently) pry the chunk out with a butter knife or other object. Once the main portion of wax has been removed and the residue is all that is left, allow the jar to come to room temperature. Once the jar is at room temperature, it can be placed in boiling water until the wax softens enough to be wiped out. The container can also be filled with the hottest tap water and wiped clean with a rag. Sticking the container in the dishwasher with a heavy duty wash or pots and pans setting usually works really well also. Small amounts of wax residue come off really well in hot, soapy dishwater.
