Planting Truth

Love the Lord your God with all your heart with all your soul and with all your mind.
- Matthew 22:37, Luke 10:27, Deuteronomy 6:5 -

These words are as true today as when they were written. God has not changed His mind about what His ways are or how He wants us to live. No matter how much we want to do our own thing or how much we think we know, God's way is still truth. There is no other God but the Lord. He alone is God, and He alone saves. We have not entered into a covenant of our own making. We have entered into a holy sacred covenant ratified by the Blood of Jesus. It is God's ways not our own that result in life eternal. We are not saved by our own doings and actions. We are saved by grace, through faith, not of works, it is the gift of God.

For some time now there has been an intense urgency in my spirit to remember who God is, to remember God's greatness. He is all knowing. He is all powerful. He is ever present. He never changes. He created the world with His words. He created man from the dust. God is not the creation of man. Man is the creation of God. There is nothing impossible for God. These and other truths have been coming to me over and over to remember. Somehow I know that I am to plant them deep inside and cement them there.

As I read the Bible I see more and more truths that I know I am to plant deep within my heart. The urgency for all of God's children to do this is very strong. This is something we need to do; I am sensing it is not an option but a necessity for our very near future. We must know who God is, and who we are IN HIM. Every trace of our selves must be brought into submission to the Lordship of Jesus Christ. We are to be who we have for years professed to be and put an end to unsubstantiated lip service. It is time to live what we believe and believe what God says. "For such a time as this" is no longer merely a theme to be used for women's retreats but a proclamation to alert the Bride of Christ that she is to be alert and actively serving her King for He is the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords and He is coming soon.

We are living the days movies throughout the years have attempted to portray. This is the time. These are the days. We have been told and taught what to do. We know. Now we must follow the example of Jesus and be about our Father's business. We have the blessed opportunity to obey His every word. Enduring hardship as a good soldier of Jesus Christ is more than a Bible verse to earn points with in children's programs. Putting on the full armor of God has become more than a quarter's worth of Bible study lessons. The reality that some works of the devil come out only by prayer and fasting is something believers must pay attention to and use instead of just noticing the words when reading through their Bible.

God is not a God of fear, yet He is to be feared, held in reverence and awe. God is indeed love and definitely extends undeserved grace that defies explanation. Yet, we must never forget that He alone is God. He is holy. He is mighty. There is none other. I pray that as a church we have not focused so intently on what God has given us, what He has done for us, or what we want Him to give us and do that we have forgotten Who He Is. May we remain faithfully steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord. May we remember the Lord our God and that it is He who rules the nations. We are His people and the sheep of His pasture. It is by His great mercies we are not destroyed. May fear gain no foothold in our hearts & minds as we remember His greatness and who He is. May we be wholly devoted and committed to Him and love Him with all of our heart with all of our soul and with all of our minds. In the name of Jesus, Amen.
