Remaining Fixed and Stable

These days my ears are hearing loads of  strife-filled situations and conversations. Very few, if any, are good or positive. Over and over person after person is going after what they want full steam ahead. Little to no regard is being shown for the feelings of others, even less for Godly truth. The thing is, these conflicts aren't between unsaved persons who haven't yet become acquainted with the love of God. Saved, born again, supposedly seasoned believers are rising up against each other. The more angry accusations and personal campaigns I hear, the more sorrow I feel. In the midst of the storms I hunker down in prayer in the best place I know to go for answers, the Word of God. As I seek God's desire for my brothers and sisters in Christ through prayer, the following scriptures along with many others rise up from deep within ringing clear and true.

"But understand this, that in the last days will come (set in) perilous times of great stress and trouble [hard to deal with and hard to bear]. For people will be lovers of self and [utterly] self-centered, lovers of money and aroused by an inordinate [greedy] desire for wealth, proud and arrogant and contemptuous boasters. They will be abusive (blasphemous, scoffing), disobedient to parents, ungrateful, unholy and profane." 2 Timothy 3:1,2

"But as for you, continue to hold to the things that you have learned and of which you are convinced, knowing from whom you learned [them], And how from your childhood you have had a knowledge of and been acquainted with the sacred Writings, which are able to instruct you and give you the understanding for salvation which comes through faith in Christ Jesus [through the leaning of the entire human personality on God in Christ Jesus in absolute trust and confidence in His power, wisdom, and goodness]. Every Scripture is God-breathed (given by His inspiration) and profitable for instruction, for reproof and conviction of sin, for correction of error and discipline in obedience, [and] for training in righteousness (in holy living, in conformity to God's will in thought, purpose, and action), So that the man of God may be complete and proficient, well fitted and thoroughly equipped for every good work." 2 Timothy 3:14-17 (italics mine)

"Love bears up under anything and everything that comes, is ever ready to believe the best of every person,...." 1 Corinthians 13:7

"Eagerly pursue and seek to acquire [this] love" 1 Corinthians 14:1

"[Let your] love be sincere (a real thing); ....Love one another with brotherly affection [as members of one family], giving precedence and showing honor to one another. Never lag in zeal and in earnest endeavor; be aglow and burning with the Spirit, serving the Lord." Romans 12:9-11

"And above all these [put on] love and enfold yourselves with the bond of perfectness [which binds everything together completely in ideal harmony]." Colossians 3:14
