New Look For the Colder Months
Brrrrrr! There is a cold north wind blowing today. A fire is radiating warmth through the house, and I thought it the perfect day to get A Mother's Rewards ready for the coming winter. By the way, the background is coffee beans NOT the pile of manure one of my children thought. (just in case anyone had similar thoughts)
When images of friends gathering together for conversation fill my mind, cups of steaming coffee, cocoa, or tea are almost always in the picture. Visions of dear friends sharing everything and nothing all at the same time immediately kindle up a warmth within. Without effort I am instantly transported back in time to mornings and afternoons spent playing with my best friend as the sound of our mothers' laughter rang throughout the house (there may have been a few snorts scattered throughout that laughter too). I am so blessed to have these precious memories of a time when little girls played together and their mamas visited over coffee and tea. Without a doubt, the very best of times were those extra long visits we received whenever one of our mother's hair was in need of perming. Perms take time, and time is exactly what two little girls long for when playing together.
Being a firsthand witness to the rare miracle of true friendship, I learned early on that friendships are important. They are something to treasure. Somehow a masterpiece is created when God takes two (or more) people, adds a unique collection of talents, giftings, and interests, throws in a ton of laughter, snorts, tears, and prayer, and sprinkles it all with His Love. Nothing and no one can take away the bond of friendship. Years pass by and friendships remain. True friendships that is. Thank You, God for friends.
