The First Snow of the Season

It's here!  It has finally arrived, the first snow of the season.  Of course my own personal image of the first snow is one where the snow gently falls to the ground creating a soft blanket of beauty instead of the fierce, wind driven bites that are currently flying past the windows at breakneck speed.  Oh well, it's still the first snow.  It is also only the second day of the fall/winter season that a fire has been required in the woodstove throughout the entire day.  That is amazing!  It is the end of October and only the second full day requiring a fire!  Truly Amazing!

The warmer than normal weather has been a huge blessing.  It enabled us to harvest vegetables that on an ordinary year wouldn't have been mature enough.  How good God is to us.  He takes care of every single detail in our lives.  Over and over His Word is confirmed as we go about our days.  What an awesome God we serve!  I have another Thanks to the Lord to share too; the tomatoes that were harvested green have almosted completely ripened, and very few of them rotted at all!  All too often tomatoes picked while green have spoiled before ripening, but not this year.  As a matter of fact, I need to put up some tomato juice either this afternoon or tomorrow.  Every detail, He takes care of every detail.

Focusing on anything is a little bit tricky with the sound of a gale force wind in the background, but I do want to talk about outdoor decorations for Autumn.  Actually, I'm hoping that all of you will share your wonderful ideas with me:) Friday will hopefully find us here at A Mother's Rewards stuffing a new scarecrow.  We haven't had one for a couple of years and are ready to make a cute scarecrow again.  The two littlest will just love it, especially stuffing the body full of newspapers.  So far, all we have for our outside decorating this fall is a potential scarecrow and corn stalks.  What about you?  Are there any fall decorations that are a family tradition at your house?  OR maybe there are some spectacular ideas hiding out in your idea file/notebook.  You do have an idea file and/or notebook, don't you?  Hmmmm, maybe that's potential for another post.  Anyway...let's have an online Fall coffee and share our greatest and best ideas with each other.  Comments may be left by clicking on the appropriate icon at the bottom of each post.  Each and every comment is appreciated and welcomed.  Thank You and welcome to our Harvest of Blessings!  Together we are laughing, sharing, and praising the Lord for every blessing He sends.

A quick little side note to remind everyone to send in their "Have You Ever...?" stories.  "Have You Ever...?" days are the days we get together and, as a sign I once saw says, "laugh so hard our tears run down our legs".  Some of us understand exactly what this means.  God has some great words to share with us, words that will encourage and strengthen our hearts.  He is Lord of All, and We Are Blessed!  Until tomorrow, Praise God from Whom all Blessings Flow!
